November 2009

November is always a crazy month b/c it is Chris's birthday and Thanksgiving. We started out with a family November Birthday Party for Chris and my cousin Diana.

The following weekend we went to the IU vs. PU football game with my Dad and David Floyd. We made it down to B-town in record time and the weather was beautiful! We ate and played cornhole!

Then we come to Thanksgiving Day and we were at my parents house with the 5 of us plus Mr. & Mrs. Fearrin and we had a great day (oh and Randi of course). There is always way too much food, but my parents love to have leftovers and we sure did! I love being pregnant during the holidays b/c the elastic waist maternity pants are awesome! Let's just say that we got things started with my Mom and Carol doing shots of scotch!
We ate, drank (well they did I didn't of course) and played Nintendo Wii which was hilarious. Boys versus girls in bowling and the Girls WON!!Thanksgiving Day also marked WEEK 24 for us!! Yahoo!! And we now have a closet for the baby's clothes which is important. We started removing some of the major items in the room that can't stay like the little tv (which was purchased when I was at Butler), the stand and the extra VCR and DVD player that we have as well.

Crib, Bedding, Rocker......check!

We are starting to feel more and more like parents-to-be. We purchased the crib from Decor 4 Kids and got a great deal! Bonivita is the brand and expresso is the color.

We also got the bedding and I can't copy the photo, but you can click here to go to the link and see it http://cadenlane.com/avery

And we bought the rocker, in all brown again from Decor 4 Kids, it is a brand called Best Chairs and it is a recliner with the handle on the inside, a feature that Chris really likes!

They also started the built in piece we are building in the nursery. Since we only have 2 master suites and since I was not willing to give up any part of my closet (selfish I know) we are building in an armoire that will hold the hanging clothes and shoes for the baby. So things in the nursery to be are coming together. Though currently in the room is the guest bed and Chris's cactus plants, which I suggested to him have to be moved when we put the crib in after the baby shower in January.

I have been feeling good and continuing to gain weight (probably not the best thing, oops!). Even my Dad said that my face is gaining weight, yikes! I am still working out 6 days a week and trying to burn off the calories. We are 23 weeks, almost 6 months along!!

Boy or Girl???

We had our visit to the doctor and had an ultrasound on Thursday. The ultrasound came first to our surprise. The tech started out taking lots of measurements of the head and the back of the neck and the legs. This baby is very active. This photo shows the baby holding its foot.

So at the very end the tech said she knew what the sex of the baby is but she wanted to prove it to us.....

So this photo shows the baby from the butt up basically, spread eagle and shows the BOY parts! Yes both Chris and I in shock when she said it. But of course very excited.

So then we made cupcakes that night to take to my parents house to tell them what kind of baby we are going to be having...

Then they sat down to open the cupcakes....

And my Mom's reaction is perfect since she was for sure we were having a girl.....the cupcakes are BLUE for BOY!!!
The heart rate is a healthy 152 and things are moving along well. I am feeling the flutters in my belly as he is moving around. The next challenge will be picking a name.....
