37 Weeks!

Saw the doctor again today (now that we are going weekly) and we are right on schedule. Last week he "checked" me and I was 1 centimeter dilated and 0 effaced and I was super excited. So I talked to my Dad who says oh this baby is going to be an April Fool's baby (though my due date is March 18th) and I said to him, you better be kidding!!!!

So we had some maternity photos taken with Kristi Hibbetts and she is great! Here are just a few (since I am done taking belly photos at this point.....)

So much has happened over the last couple weeks. We had the last baby shower in Batesville hosted by my sister-in-law and mother-in-law and it was so nice and all the family was there which was great. The problem when you ask your Mom to be in charge of the photos is they are on her camera and I won't get them until I actually see her this Sunday and download them, sorry!

One of the best gifts came from Grandpa Powell (soon to be Great Grandpa Powell!) and he built the baby a toy box and it is perfect! It is nestled in our small room downstairs which also has our new desk, old shelf (new location), the baby swing and of course Chris's cactus plants. But there is a large open space and I hope to spend a good amount of time down there.

We are almost all set for this baby. Oh and he does have a name now (though we aren't sharing yet!). I just need a basket to sit next to the changing table and we need to put up the video monitor and I'm considering putting up the letters to his name above the crib that will go with the fun monkey stickers that we have to put on the wall.

The best part of all is that the doctor (who knows Dad really well) gave me his pager, cell and home number. He is determined to deliver this baby for us! I truthfully think he is scared of my Dad (since they are both on the Board of American Health Network together). And you know what, that is just fine by me! Oh and I think that my Dad is pretty excited b/c he is going to be the baby's doctor while at Clarian North, since our regular doctor doesn't have permission there.

That's it for now!

Maternity Photos

Nothing is exciting at all to me about being photographed while being fat, I mean pregnant! I am so self conscious as it is and being pregnant just makes it worse. But I wanted a couple nice photos anyway and the lady we used is doing the newborn session as well.

She is going to have a sneak peak on her blog tonight if you are interested:

We are now into our weekly doctor visits and I am starting to feel very pregnant, I am 36 weeks and all. The nursery is very close to being finished and the car seat is in the car. Things are coming together!

Stay tuned!

Belly Photo

Well this post is a little old since I was 34 weeks last Thursday. Everyday counts you know! Nesting is in full effect as well. After all the projects we had done to the house, it was my turn and I have cleaned out everything possible including Chris's closet, all cabinets, file cabinets etc.

We had lots of snow on Friday evening and b/c of the drifting snow we closed Velocity on Saturday. That has never been done before! It worked out in my favor since I was supposed to work and didn't have to now! So Chris and I cleaned and he helped me put together the new desk. So the lower level entrance room is coming together and looking cleaner every weekend.

I had a freak out weekend when I found out that my friend Becky Meek had her little girl (Ryann Michelle Meek) 2 1/2 weeks early. Yikes, I am totally not ready! So after I heard that news more nesting on Sunday. We picked up the dresser/changing table from my parents house as they were so kind to sand and refinish the dresser that used to be mine when I was a baby. It looks awesome! Though we only have the outside of it not the drawers, they needed a little Old English still. But we moved the old shelving unit downstairs and put everything in its place. I was not super happy when everything didn't fit exactly where I wanted it too, bummer! Oh well I guess. I then actually washed sheets, clothes and changing table pads. So now we are very close to being ready!

After the last shower next weekend I will get the car seat out of the box and put it in the car along with the stroller frame. And pack my bag for the hospital (since my daily e-mail said to do that last week, oops!).

Went to the doctor last Thursday and had a little scare when the heart beat was only 90 (normal is 120 - 180 for those of you that haven't had children yet!). The doctor thinks it was because I was lying on my back and not sitting propped up. So she (not my normal doctor) put me on a monitor for 20 minutes and all was normal, 135 - 155 the entire time.

Still a Colts fan after the loss yesterday, hang your heads high COLTS!

Wonderful Weekend!

What a week we just had! The nesting phase is in full effect that is for sure! We had some help on a few projects and I am so excited they are finished. The sad thing is that none of them had to do with the nursery. Our dog (Randi) when she was a puppy chewed on our windowsill on our lower level, that is now fixed! We also built Randi a little dog room under the steps and she will be introduced to that this week. That will allow us to use the lower level room since her crate won't be in there! We also took our old chewed up desk to GoodWill (though Chris had a hard time separating from it). And the best project was the knobs that we now have on the kitchen cabinets and the bathrooms and the backsplash in the kitchen. I love it!

The other part of the weekend was spent with good friends and a wonderful baby shower! My great cousin Diana and my 2 best friends Vicki and Jen hosted an awesome get together for me on Saturday. It was great to see everything and we are so lucky for all the wonderful gifts we received. Plus the snacks were my favorite things, peanut butter and chocolate fondue! Thank you to everyone for your hard work and taking time out to be with me on Saturday!

I don't think we have any photos of the 2 grandmothers to be either! Another doctor visit this week and hopefully I will get a chance to post a belly photo b/c it is getting huge! Thanks for reading!
