Butler Going To The Final Four!

So not only did both Chris and I go to Butler, but one of our first dates was a trip to Atlanta to watch IU play in the Final Four! So today, Chris was able to attend a sneak peek of the Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium (couresy of the Indiana Sports Corporation) and I of course had to stay home with the little guy (I guess that is what I get for being the milk woman!). I knew that he would really enjoy being on the floor and getting the sneak peek! Here are some photos of the event this morning.

The Basketball locker rooms, with 7ft 6 in shower heads...and pics of the court....yes I rushed and was the first person to make a goal on one of the basketball goals!

It was great to get to meet Quinn Buckner and Bill Benner even rebounded someone's shot and pass it to me for a 10 foot jumper...I got to take an assist from Bill Benner- cool.

Almost 2 weeks

We went to the doctor today for a check up and just a few things that are bothering Mom and Dad. The umbilical cord was starting to stink so Dad (or Grandpa actually) did something to it to make that go away yesterday. Dillon has lost some weight and the doctor is afraid that he is not getting enough food from me, well that is another emotional roller coaster for me, geez! I wasn't sure I would like the bonding so much, but I do!

We had the photographer come out to the house and take a bunch of photos of Dillon on Saturday, here is the sneak peek!

Welcome to Parenthood

Chris and I are overwhelmed with joy to be new parents! So many visitors at the hospital and now at the house and we are thankful for the support. Dillon came out with a full head of hair (shocking I know).

Now I know what people mean when they say sleep when he sleeps because he is not sleeping through the night at all, more like screaming and crying and as a parent with no sleep that is so frustrating. It will all get better I'm sure. We are very lucky to have a little time off next week to get into a schedule.

Here are a few more pics of the little guy. Born March 10, 2010 at 3:30pm, 7lb 90z and 19.5 inches long and a full head of hair!

This was Dillon and Randi getting to know each other. Randi is still a bit skeptical, especially when he cries!

Dillon Christopher Powell

Dillon was welomed into the world on March 10th at 3:30pm. Things could not have gone more smooth for us. Alarm clock went off at 6:40am to head to the gym and I wasn't feeling great so we decided against it and thank goodness we did b/c at 7:00am my water broke and boy that was a crazy feeling!

We arrive at the hospital not more than 15 minutes later and here come the contractions. I went from about 7:30am - 10:30am all natural, just Chris and I and the nurse (who was awesome!). At 11am I asked for the epidural and if I would have known how relaxed it would have made me felt then I would have asked for it earlier for sure! Chris's parents and sister and my parents arrived and we hung out in the huge birthing room until about 2:30pm when the doctor came in for a check and I was ready to go! I pushed for no more than 45 minutes and out came Dillon and he is precious! A very emotional moment for Chris and I both, I never imaged anything like it truthfully.

Tuesday night Chris and I hung the letters for Dillon above the crib and the video monitor and thank goodness we did! A mother's intution or something I guess.

I don't have the right cord for the camera at the hospital so I promise photos later!!

2 weeks to go!

Another doctor appointment today and I am 2 centimeters dilated and my cervix is 90% thin and my doctor said that he is at a conference next Friday through Sunday so not to have the baby then. But from what he said this baby is going to be early or just on time. And from a Velocity standpoint that couldn't be worse b/c we have teams that train up until March 18th (which is my due date) so I am hoping for an on time arrival.

I am still feeling OK, though getting comfortable at night is challenging and my IT band on my right side is causing problems but nothing out of the ordinary for this stage in pregnancy I suppose!
