Dillon's 1st Trip to the Beach

Dillon and I were lucky enough to escape the cold Indiana weather and travel by plane (Dillon's first plane ride!) to Ft. Myers, Florida! My cousins (Kerri & Troy Noard) have a house in a cool neighborhood (and so does Kerri's Mom or my Aunt Lynn and their condo is very nice which is why Dillon and I couldn't stay there....not babyproofed!). The Indy airport was easy to travel by myself all the people were so nice and helpful and I sat on the plane next to 2 Butler grads (I presume they were at least 70 years old) and they were the nicest ladies of course!
Dillon and I took lots of walks, swam in the pool, played outside in the grass (Florida grass is very different and he thought that was so cool) and we shopped at the outlets and played at the beach. Mom (aka Grandy to Dillon) met up with me on Sunday after dropping Dad at the airport to head home and stayed with me for the rest of the trip which was great! Dillon and Grandy have so much fun together, we laughed a lot!
I took so many pictures that I couldn't post them all. I am getting used to my "big girl" camera and took over 300 pictures! Thank you to my cousins and Aunt for letting us stay and use your wonderful homes in Ft. Myers!! We had a blast!
Dillon thought it was hilarious when Grandy was using the spray sunscreen. You can't tell in this photo but he is laughing so hard at her and the sunscreen!!

Now I am looking forward to all the March birthdays (Blake, Dad, Dillon, Vicky, Grandpa Joe, Jacob, Tim, Wendy) and I can't believe that Dillon is about to be 1. Boy how the time flies. I have been a bit emotional lately with the realization that he is turning 1.

2011 - finger foods, climbing the stairs and more!

2011 is off to a great start! Dillon is crawling so fast, pulling up on everything and after a recent visit from Ryan Meek (and her family) Dillon learned how to climb up the stairs!

We installed a gate on the steps and lowered his crib (I can't believe he is going to be 1 in 5 weeks). He is eating all kinds of finger foods and he loves to drop his food to Randi. So needless to say Randi and Dillon are now best of friends.

My sweet boy is growing up and it makes me sad. Here are a couple videos of him feeding Randi with his pasta and the second one is of him climbing the stairs and don't mind the video of me, I was turning the camera around.

Thanks for reading!

Pulling up and crawling

Dillon is getting sooooo big! After 3 months of crawling backwards and 2 months of doing the army crawl he finally is crawling forward! He is getting around so quickly now. He is also pulling up all of a sudden too. I put him on the floor in his room and turned around and he was pulling up on his shelf. Crazy how quickly this all happens with babies! I can't believe he is going to be 1 in March!

Here is a video of him pulling himself up!

Dillon's 1st Christmas

Dillon's 1st Christmas was so much fun! We had 5 different celebrations. Batesville 3 times, Noblesville once and Indianapolis once. He loved the wrapping paper and thought that was so cool! He loves all of his new toys and has started to play with all of them. We introduce a new one every couple days so he doesn't get too overwhelmed.

Though the celebrations ended with a cold of sorts, dripping snot out of the nose and he couldn't breathe well out of his nose either. Such a treat for Mom and Dad of course.

Happy Baby!

One of the best joys for me is to see my sweet boy laugh and smile at me! He just brings a smile to your face (and everyone he comes in contact with really!).

Here is one of him laughing at me while eating dinner. I was suggesting to him to "hold on to the spoon" which is what you hear me saying in the background!

9 month stats & sippy cup

Dillon is 9 months and we went to the doctor today. He weighed in at 21.5lbs (55%) and 18.5 inches long (35%) so he is not above 50% in height which we were hoping for, shoot!

Dillon still has some reflux and that is probably why he is getting so upset in the middle of the night. So I bought a wedge to put in his crib and hopefully that will help.

He also loves the sippy cup, yahoo!!

He is so close to crawling forwards. He gets on all 4's and rocks and does the bridge and goes from sitting to all 4's and all 4's to sitting. Come on D! And he can clap which is so fun!

Thanksgiving and Dillon is 9 months old

I can't believe my sweet boy (that is what I have called him from birth) is 9 months old. Oh how the time flies!

Dillon spent his first Thanksgiving in Chicago with my Mom's side of the family. We haven't celebrated a holiday with them probably since Chris and I met (and just in case Chris is reading this, we met in March 2002.....). My Mom's sister, husband and son arrived the Sunday before in Chicago and Mom, Dillon and I drove up on Monday and Chris, Dad and Blake arrived on Wednesday. It was very special to spend time with them. And to see how much fun they all had with Dillon. He of course didn't get to eat anything special for Thanksgiving just the usual baby food and milk kind of thing. Though he did end our trip there with his 4th tooth coming through the gums and his first ear infection. Thank goodness there is a good doctor on call for us!!

Dillon's newest trick is to clap on cue which is pretty fun for us! We say Dillon clap and of course clap our hands and he does the same it is so stinkin' cute! He is ready to crawl and I thought for sure he would be crawling by Thanksgiving because he is rolling over like crazy and rocking back and forth on all 4's and scooting everywhere and crawling backwards we just can't seem to go forwards for whatever reason (maybe his size.....). Oh well I suppose.

We are looking forward to seeing family over the next couple weeks for the holidays!

Our favorite photographer, Kelly Applegate took Dillon's 9 month photos and some family photos and this one was one of my favorite of course. The way he looks at me just brings tears to my eyes! I love you sweet boy! Once I send out our holiday cards I will post the rest of our awesome photos!
